An invitation to preserve and save the old buildings of the village
دعوة للمحافظة وأنقاد المباني القديمة بالقرية

من خلال هذا الموقع أدعو الجميع للمحافظة على هذا التراث الإنساني (وبالأخص سكان بلدة آقار الشاطئ)، فقد لحظنا وخلال زيارتنا المتكررة للمدينة القديمة بقرية آقار وجود بعض التدمير المتعمد والحرائق من حين لأخر الأمر الذي أحزننا كثيراً وأحزنا العديد من الأهالي. فالرجاء من المهتمين بالتراث والتاريخ المحافظة على هذه المعالم التاريخية حتى تصل للأجيال القادمة بدون أضرار، والرجاء من الأخوة بمصلحة الآثار أدراج هذه القرية من ضمن الآثار الليبية الواجب حمايته. يرى في الصور تحت حريق متعمد شب في بيتين في نفس اليوم سبب في تساقط السقف المصنوع من جذوع النخيل.

From this spot, I invite everybody to preserve this human heritage (and in particular the inhabitants of Agar Al-Shati Town) because we have noticed, during our said visit to the old town of Agar village, the presence of some deliberate destruction and fires that take place from time to time, a matter that has made us really sad and so were the inhabitants. I would kindly request those interested in heritage and history in this country to preserve these antiquities for the coming generations intact without damage. My invitation is particularly directed to the Archeology Department. We see in the pictures, a deliberate fire taking place in two houses in the same day which caused the roof made of palm roots to collapse.

Fire breaking out in the old mosque. As you can see in the picture, the fire has eaten up the palm tree roots and when its falls down it will cause the collapse of the old buildings.
